SITE UPDATED ON JANUARY 2024
My name is Dave Seaney and I am a vintage and antique playing card collector and member of 52+Joker. If you are also an antique playing card collector you have most likely heard stories about the Longley Brothers. In the "Hochman Encyclopedia of American Playing Cards" the Longleys take up a number of pages about the playing card companies they were thought to be connected to. At that time, 40 years ago, the information available was limited. I am now expanding that knowledge with new information and untangling those connections. There will be a lot of new information revealed. I have not answered all the questions, but I believe I have answered most.
The cards created by each playing card company in the stories will be covered separately.
I'm sure there is more family history here than you may want to know, but the Longleys have impacted history in many areas. I hope you enjoy learning about all seven of the brothers and three nephews that make up this story.
I would like to give special thanks to Longley family historian Dr. Wendy Erisman and fellow collectors Matt Schacht, Jason McKinstry and Toby Edwards (also my editor).
